Doesn’t that make you dizzy? It’s the word in Hollywood these days: 3-D. Just yesterday we talked about how ‘Dawn of the Dead’ was getting a 3-D remake and now Regal Cinemas is announcing to upgrade 1,500 screens to display 3-D. The movie chain is certainly busy with new technology. Two weeks ago they announced their renewed support for IMAX.
RealD will provide the technology, bringing the total to more than 3,500 RealD screens. With about 25% of Regal Cinemas’ screens being able to display the 3-D pictures. Hopefully this brings Jeffrey Katzenberg a little closer to his goal for the ‘Monsters vs. Aliens‘ movie.

 | | Busy times for the creators of the $150 million ‘Hancock.’ There were some reshoots for the movie over a week ago at Times Square and now Cinemablend is reporting the movie won’t premiere in Australia next month. Most blockbusters releasing within the next two months are creating the necessary buzz on the internet, especially the ones that cost $150 million. But ‘Hancock’ hasn’t made much of these headlines. And cancelling the premiere or having reshoots aren’t the headlines you want to make a little over a month before your movie’s releasing worldwide.
Will Smith and director Peter Berg were both expected to come to the premiere in Australia June 10, but the whole thing is now cancelled. Post-production must be on fire at this moment. If everything works out, ‘Hancock’ will be releasing worldwide starting July 2.

BBC caught up with Victor Kubicek of production company Halcyon Co. at Cannes. His company recently picked up the ‘Terminator’ rights and is currently shooting a new movie in the franchise, called ‘Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins.’ But they have even bigger plans with the follow-up of Schwarzenegger’s trilogy. They plan to make at least three new movies and Christian Bale has already signed for all of them.
“He’s really an actor’s actor, so we’re very proud. Christian was our first choice and he’s a big fan of The Terminator, so we’re very lucky,” Kubicek said. He was tight-lipped about the whole script. Common and Moon Bloodgood probably don’t even know the whole story. “Not everyone gets to see the script. They only see the part of the script that’s relevant to the job they’re doing,” Kubicek noted.
If you are interested in asking the producers a question about the new movie, you can check out the link below.
