Boyence Bond Theme

After Amy Winehouse, the ‘Quantum of Solace’ creators have now approached Beyonce to sing the always popular Bond theme. Amy Winehouse’s spokesman confirmed “She didn’t like the track they were working on and felt it was the wrong thing to get involved in.

John Barry, who made the well known ‘Dr. No’ theme song, is also involved. He was surprised when his music was so frequently used in the 1962 movie, since his payment for the job was rather unsubstantial. But it turned out quite well for the now 74 year old composer. He composed the music for another 11 Bond movies after ‘Dr. No.’

Cannes confirms a slow year for good films

Cannes BOO!

Although there are plenty of summer blockbusters to go around this year, many critics are disappointed with Cannes’ main competition films. “Coming off another weak Berlin festival, there is a sense that 2008 is not going to be the best year for films,” Jay Weissberg of Variety said. “Even before the halfway mark, the general mood has been one of disappointment,” he added. Which might also explain why there aren’t as many sales at the Cannes Film Festival.

Most movies had mixed reactions. Steven Soderbergh’s ‘Che’ was loved by some, but said to be too long by others. Charlie Kaufman’s ‘Synecdoche, New York’ was deemed too weird. Lesser known documentary ‘Waltz With Bashir’ is seen as the potential winner of the Cannes Festival’s Palme d’Or. It’s an animated feature about the 1982 massacre of the Palestinians in Beirut.

Marvel Lips

Each of these characters becomes a brand that we can market.
