Some of our regular readers might have expected our weekly ‘post-weekend box office drop‘ yesterday, but since we had the Memorial Day weekend, we can’t really compare the results. In the post-weekend drop we compare the box office results of Saturday + Sunday and Monday + Tuesday. And this Monday was actually a Sunday, so we would generate skewed results.

There wasn’t a noticeable difference between the top 3 movies this week either. All had about a 80% drop, when we compare Saturday + Sunday to Tuesday + Wednesday. Normally this would be a steep drop and rank pretty low on our self-invented drop list. But because of Memorial Day, you could take off a couple of percentages. ‘Prince Caspian’ had the smallest drop this week. But the difference is so insignificant, it wouldn’t be fair to declare it ‘the winner.’
