Adam Sandler producing thriller

June 6th, 2008 at 10:37 am

Except for his off the beat ‘Punch-Drunk Love,’ Adam Sandler has been 100% comedy. But that’s about to change. His production company Happy Madison is taking on a thriller named ‘Shortcut.’ A story about two guys who find a scary shortcut in their town nobody was using before. And why would that be?

Nicholaus Goossen, who also made the lightweight ‘Grandma’s Boy’ for Happy Madison, will direct the thriller. And the movie already has a SAG waiver for the possible strike next month, since production will start in a couple of weeks.

‘You Don’t Mess With the Zohan,’ which is releasing today, also comes from Sandler’s busy production house.

Adam Sandler is classic in his own way, though he tends to do his best work when he stays casual, not trying too hard to be funny or deep, etc.
