Disney is launching a nature film label, originally called Disneynature. “Our goal is to bring event films, as only nature can tell,” Dick Cook, chairman of the Walt Disney Studios, said. Trying to release one green picture a year, the label will be run by Jean-Francois Camilleri, also responsible for the box office hit ‘March of the Penguins.’

The first movie will be called ‘Earth’ and will be released on Earth Day April 22, 2009. Other projects are ‘Chimpanzee’ and ‘Big Cats,’ both filmed in Africa.

Terminator 4 not canned after all

Moon Bloodgood Salt

As I said to take the cancellation story with a pack of salt, the news just came out about Moon Bloodgood, who is in the final phrase of signing up for Terminator 4. The movie, produced by Warner Bros, will begin shooting May 5 and stars Christian Bale.

It goes without saying, Moon will have one of the most intellectual parts in the movie. Ok, I’m getting cranky, it’s time for me to go to bed now.

X-files movie title revealed

Duchovny X-files movie

20th Century Fox finally signed off on ‘I Want To Believe’, the new title of the X-files movie. Slated for release July 25, the movie comes six years after the series finale. One of the reasons why the story is both written for the fans, but also for newcomers.

“It has struck me over the last several years talking to college-age kids that a lot of them really don’t know the show or haven’t seen it. If you’re 20 years old now, the show started when you were 4. It was probably too scary for you or your parents wouldn’t let you watch it. So there’s a whole new audience that might have liked the show. This was made to, I would call it, satisfy everyone,” Chris Carter, the show’s creator, told The Associated Press.
