Some people have asked me ‘what the hell is up with that Bunraku movie.’ Well, I must say I didn’t know much about it and I looked it up. So without further ado, here’s the first of hopefully many ‘in production’ posts.

‘Bunraku’ is based on the similarly named theater puppets in Japan. These special type of Japanese puppets generally require three puppeteers to make everything move, from head to fingers. The main characteristic of the puppet is the face, which is able to transform quickly. A virgin can become the devil in a split-second.

Demi Moore, that’s the one with the boy toy, has signed on for two new independent projects. Starring in ‘Bunraku’ with Woody Harrelson (pictured above) and Josh Hartnett and in ‘Happy Tears’ with Parker Posey.

‘Happy Tears’, by Mitchell Lichtenstein, follows a ruthless woman dealing with her bitter sister and father. Demi Moore plays the sister, who’s fed up with her hateful dementing father.

‘Bunraku’, by Guy Moshe, is a martial arts movie about a man out for revenge. The film is compared to ‘Sin City’ and Moore plays the slave who will be forced to marry the man that captures her.
