‘The Bucket List’ topping last week’s shopping listJune 20th, 2008 at 12:33 am

Hollywood grandpas Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman did it again. After an mildly impressive worldwide gross of $173 mill, the oldies are topping both the sales and rental chart in the US.
Again we sadly don’t have actual numbers, but ‘The Bucket List’ was followed by ‘Jumper’ on both charts. The Doug Liman (‘The Bourne Identity’) movie made $80 mill in the US earlier this year and had a total gross of $221 mill. The good worldwide performance (for its $85 million budget) recently justified talks about a sequel, although nothing has been planned yet.
‘The Other Boleyn Girl’ debuted at number 4 and ‘John Adams’ by HBO at 5.
Hayden Christensen talking about ‘Jumper 2′June 9th, 2008 at 6:48 am

Hayden Christensen has pretty much confirmed a ‘Jumper’ sequel. “It was set up to become that — a trilogy — if it did well,” Christensen said. “And I think they’re happy with how it did so they want to make another one.“
While ‘Jumper’ wasn’t a big success in the US, the $85 million movie made $221 million worldwide, of which $80 in the US alone. Including marketing, this Doug Liman movie must have been profitable. But the question is how profitable?
They’re definitely thinking about a sequel though. “We’re talking about it,” Christensen said. “I know that they’re having those conversations, I hear about them.” And when asked if he would do the sequel he added, “Oh yeah, and I think I probably will.“
It sounds like the contract can fall on his doorstep any day now.
