Ellen Page to do Jane Eyre after whipping itMay 7th, 2008 at 2:30 pm

Ellen Page is a busy girl. ‘Juno’ is storming the DVD stores, ’Smart People’ is pulling in the indie crowd and meanwhile she’s getting ready to film Drew Barrymore’s ‘Whip It!’ this summer.
To fill the holes in her schedule, she has now also signed on to play Jane Eyre, produced by BBC Films and Ruby Films. “She put a whole different complexion on Jane Eyre,” Christine Langan of BBC Films said. The 1847 classic has a long way to come though, since they are still looking for directors and co-producers.
Workaholic or just a passion for her work, Ellen Page is getting ready to rise to heaven.

‘Cloverfield’ tops ‘Juno’ in DVD sales and rentalsMay 1st, 2008 at 10:30 pm

While ‘Juno’ dragged her belly into every DVD store to get the top spot last week, the ‘Cloverfield’ monster scared her to the second place this time. Both in the sales and rental department ‘Cloverfield’ managed to take the top spot. Although it didn’t make the $8.4 million in rentals ‘Juno’ made last week, the monster picture still did an estimated $7.5 million.
This week ‘Juno’ made another $6.9 million in rentals, followed by the $75 million ‘Charlie Wilson’s War’ with $6.7 million, which also came in third in sales. And since it wasn’t very successful at the box office, a third place is very decent for this political drama.
