Actors: Downey Jr. named to play Hefner

Hugh Hefner is said to have chosen Robert Downey Jr. to play him in the biopic called ‘Playboy.’ No contracts have been signed, but Hefner apparently liked his humor and vulnerability in ‘Iron Man.’

Brett Ratner (’Rush Hour’), announced as the director last year, ditched out and is currently not involved in the project anymore. I have no idea how solid these rumors are. The movie has been a long time coming and last year Tom Cruise was even mentioned to play Hugh Hefner.

The picture is currently set to release somewhere in 2009.
