Actors: Downey Jr. named to play HefnerMay 24th, 2008 at 4:03 pm
 | | Hugh Hefner is said to have chosen Robert Downey Jr. to play him in the biopic called ‘Playboy.’ No contracts have been signed, but Hefner apparently liked his humor and vulnerability in ‘Iron Man.’
Brett Ratner (’Rush Hour’), announced as the director last year, ditched out and is currently not involved in the project anymore. I have no idea how solid these rumors are. The movie has been a long time coming and last year Tom Cruise was even mentioned to play Hugh Hefner.
The picture is currently set to release somewhere in 2009.

Not only in the movies? A-list wiretappingMay 16th, 2008 at 12:50 am

Several Hollywood stars have been linked to the current ‘Anthony Pellicano’ wiretapping case. It seems like some of those crazy stories in the movies were ‘based on true events,’ because Anthony Pellicano was found guilty today and faces up to 20 years in prison. Using techniques like wiretapping, Pellicano dug up dirt about people for his powerful clients.
As it turns out, actors like Sylvester Stallone, Tom Cruise and Chris Rock were involved in the wiretapping too. Cruise was not directly linked, but used Pellicano’s services through his lawyer and attorney. Chris Rock claims he didn’t know about Pellicano’s tactics, but used his services when a model claimed he got him pregnant. Stallone did not use the service, but was tapped himself, just like several other Hollywood stars.
It gives you quite a different perspective of how Hollywood really works, am I right?
Actors: Tom Cruise to be presidentMay 15th, 2008 at 2:15 pm

Tom Cruise is going to star in ‘The 28th Amendment’ as none other than the President of the United States of America. Well, as long as he’s acting it’s fine by me. The big budget Warner Bros. thriller follows the story of president Ben Cahill, who finds out the government is actually run by a secret cabal.
Denzel Washington is the leader of the cabal and wants Tom Cruise dead. In the movie, that is. ‘Transformers’ and ‘Mission: Impossible III’ writer Alex Kutzman wrote the script, which might explain the connection to Cruise. I’m expecting something quite mediocre.
